Elementary Running Club and Team Dominicana Prep for 5K Run/Walk

The February 17th Elementary Chapel services marked the launch of our annual Mission Outreach 5K Run/Walk and Fun Run. Coach Deans and Principal Sandra Sauls kicked off the donation window with fun team-building activities.  Team Dominicana is working together through prayer, participation in the Missions 5K/Fun Run on March 12, and sharing financially to support The Ark of Jarabacoa. The Elementary School goal is to exceed last year’s $1300. The top class in both elementary buildings will enjoy an ice cream treat!

K5-12th grade WCA students have the potential to reach hearts for Jesus locally and in the Dominican Republic through this project. This year during spring break, April 9-16, the Dominican Republic Mission Team is partnering with Kid’s Alive International to minister to the girls and boys at The Ark of Jarabacoa. Our Mission Team is a group of juniors/seniors from Wake Christian Academy. The Ark of Jarabacoa is a children’s home filled with families of orphaned and vulnerable children.  To meet the holistic needs of each child – physically, spiritually, educationally and mentally –  the campus includes 9 homes, a chapel and outdoor recreation spaces.

Participants in Mrs. Causer and Mrs. Lewis’ Grade 3-5 After-School Running Club will be ready for the 5K this year. Make plans to join them and the entire WCA Team Dominicana on March 12 for our 5K Run/Walk and Fun Run.
