**THIS SUMMER – We will not offer the full day camp, but you can build a full day by choosing a morning option and an afternoon option for your camper.   

NOTE: For any campers who sign up for a morning and afternoon camp, there will be a supervised lunch hour between sessions.  Campers should bring their lunch.  We will only offer supplementary snacks, water, and juice boxes for sale during that time.

*Camp Week 1 – June 12 – 16*

Morning  (9:00 am – 12:00 pm)

Beginners Golf Camp: (4th – 8th grade) This camp for beginner golfers will focus on the rules of the game, equipment needed, skills and technique. Campers will enjoy learning to drive and putt the ball for part of the week on campus as well as taking field trips to a local driving and putting facility. Camp Fee $105

Football Skills Camp:  (2nd – 9th grade) Whether your football player is experienced or just starting football, this camp is for them! Coach Cochran and his staff will focus on proper football fundamentals and techniques, placing campers into appropriate skill levels and age groups. Not only will they learn the ins and outs of the game, but they will also learn how to work as a team, self-discipline, consideration of others and how to attain their potential on the field. Proper conditioning, nutrition, and weight training techniques are also introduced!  Camp Fee $95

Cheerleading:  (K – 3rd grade) We’ve got spirit, yes we do! We’ve got spirit how ‘bout you?! Cheerleading Camp is designed for the aspiring young athletes who wants to develop cheer skills in an exciting, creative and fun atmosphere. Campers will learn individual cheer skills, basic tumbling, partner stunts and most importantly, teamwork! Get ready for a spirit filled week! Camp Fee $95

Beginner Cake Decorating: (K – 3rd grade) In this class we will learn the basics of cake decorating. We will learn how to make and color buttercream, how to fill piping bags and work with different piping tips. We will make simple buttercream flowers and learn to pipe different borders. We will also learn to decorate cupcakes and make cake pops which students will be able to take home at the end of camp.  Instruction by Connie Thomas, Camp Fee $105.

Crafty Kids Camp: (K-5th grade)  Campers will enjoy a fun filled week of super cool crafts with Cameron.  They will have a take home craft every day.  Some of the artwork will be fun things to decorate their rooms with as well as some outdoor fun crafts.  Campers will be encouraged to use their own artistic style and have fun!  Camp Fee $95

 

Afternoon (1:00 pm – 4:00 pm)

Candy Land Adventure: (K – 5th grade)   Join us for a sweet week full of scavenger hunts and candy making.  Each day the camps will take on a piece of the Candyland puzzle in real life to find the treasure at the Candyland Castle. Campers will also search daily for the sweet truths from the scriptures. Continuing with the adventure, on Wednesday campers will be visiting a real life chocolate factory in Downtown Raleigh. They will end the camp week with a fun Friday water day.  Camp Fee $115

*Camp Week 2 – June 19 – 23*

 

Morning (9:00 am – 12:00 pm)

Volleyball Camp (2nd – 8th grade) Coach Deans and some of his varsity volleyball players are excited to be instructing this developmental camp for girls. The camp will focus on the basic techniques of passing, serving, setting and attacking and developing a higher technique in each area. The basic rules of the game will be taught as well as the basic offensive and defensive systems of the sport. There will be multiple, individual, and team competitions and games. Special prizes will be given for various activities during the week. This camp will be a fun and positive environment for everyone and a great opportunity to learn more about volleyball. Campers will be placed in age and skill appropriate groups during play and instruction times.

Boys Soccer Skills Camp (2nd – 8th grade)

Coach Cory’s primary objective of this boys only soccer camp will be to improve a young player’s individual skills. Campers will be divided up according to age and skill level.  It will focus on passing, receiving, trapping, dribbling, shooting, finishing, heading, etc… and will be tailored to age-specific activities. Coach Cory our Middle School soccer coach and his talented staff will make this a fun and enjoyable learning environment. Whether it’s through skills training or game play your camper is sure to have a fun time. Camp Fee $95

All Sports Camp: (3rd – 6th grade)  Are you a fan of all types of sports? If so, join Coach Hensley for a fun-filled week of sporting activities. Each day will be dedicated to learning about and playing a different sport. Sports included will be basketball, bowling, rock climbing, wiffleball, Hensleyball and disc golf.. Your camper will enjoy a week long adventure in a fun and safe environment. They may even find an activity that they will choose to participate in for a lifetime.What to Bring: a water bottle, sunscreen, and shoes that are appropriate for both indoor and outdoor play. Camp Fee $105  

Little Veterinarian School (K-5th grade)  This is a great new camp that is being offered through the ‘Little Medical School’ group.  This camp uses interactive demonstration, crafts, to help kids learn how to take care of a pet and use instruments that real veterinarians use.  Each camper will receive a diploma as a graduate of little Veterinarian School. Fun With Art : (K-5th grade)  Your little artist will enjoy a fun filled creative  time in art camp.  They will do some really fun painting activities, there will be lots of abstract  creations this week!  Send them out and let them explore their artistic flair. There will be daily take away projects at this camp. Instructor: Cameron Turlington. Camp Fee $95

 

Afternoon (1:00 pm – 4:00 pm)

Destination Science Camp: (K-5th grade)   Have your camper join us for a fun week of science learning.  We will be will be looking at God’s wonderful creation through daily projects and experiments.  There will be games and other craft activities to go along with the daily theme.  We will be visiting the Museum of Natural Science in Downtown Raleigh on Wednesday as well as the Fuquay-Varina Splash Pad on Friday.  Camp fee $115

How Appetizing Cooking Camp: (3rd-6th grade) Campers will enjoy learning how to make appetizers that are themed with event types.  These recipes will be traditional and kid friendly.  There will also be an opportunity to be very creative in the preparation and presentation of each  appetizer.  The best part is the taste testing and the excitement of bringing things home to share. *Camp Week 3 – June 26 – 30*

Morning (9:00 am – 12:00 pm)

Girls Soccer Skills Camp: (2nd – 8th grade)  This camp, offered for girls only, is designed to create a challenging environment in which each participant will be aided in their quest to improve their individual skill level. Campers will be placed in the appropriate age groups and skill levels for instruction. Instructional emphasis will be placed on developing both technical skills and tactical field awareness in every player. Coach Cory is a WCA alumnus as well a middle school soccer coach. We are excited to have him for camp this year, his love for the game, our school, and the students shows through his coaching.  Camp Fee $95

Intermediate Golf Camp: (4– 8th grade)   This camp is an advanced golf skills camp for intermediate golfers. We will be reviewing the basics of golf rules of play and developing our techniques.  We will practice our techniques on the school practice fields as well as  a local  putting course, driving range, and par three course. Instructed by Coach Hensley.  Camp Fee $105

WCA Kindergarten Readiness Camp:  (Rising K5)   Your rising Kindergartner will be given the opportunity to learn the ropes of K5 before the first day of school. Give your child a head start by allowing them the opportunity to work on learning their way around the classroom, playground, art room, media center, and other areas that they will need to be familiar with. As well as polishing some K5 classroom skills. This will also give them the opportunity to work and play with other WCA kindergarten students for an entire week. Our goal is to make them confident and ready for the first day of school. Your student must be 5 by the September 30 cut off for K-5 registration. Instructors: Kim Dry & Amy Bowers.  Camp Fee $95

Little Medical School (K-5th grade) – The Little Medical School group is offering a fun filled week of learning about the world of medicine on an elementary level.  This camp is instructed by certified Little Medical School teachers.  The content is outlined in the Little Medical School Flyer.  We are very excited to partner with this new group!!  There will be daily take home items from what they learn each day at camp. Campers will also receive a diploma as a graduate of the Little Medical School upon completion of the Course.  Little Medical School Summer Camp Flyer. Camp Fee $150

Little Chefs Camp: (K -3rd)  Your ‘Little Chef’ will enjoy learning their way around the kitchen. They will look at kitchen safety, proper handling of food, and the importance of cleanliness in the kitchen. They will also learn the importance of following directions with recipes and using proper measurements. They will learn how to make kid friendly meals and best of all they will get to taste the results! Yummy…sounds like fun! Instructor: Delaney Currin.  Camp Fee $105

 

Afternoon (1:00 pm – 4:00 pm)

BRIXOLOGY (2-5th grade) This new and exciting camp is brought to WCA by Mad Science.  Each camp day will be comprised of a different brick build that highlights a specific engineering field as well as engineering as a STEM based career path.  Each build is designed by a LEGO Certified Professional. Cooking Around The Clock (2-5th grade)  Your young cooks will enjoy learning to make kid friendly recipes that coordinate with the different times of the day.  They will focus daily on different time that a meal or snack may be prepared.  Breakfast time, Lunch time, Dinner time, snack time and maybe just an in between time.  Fun fun fun with food!  Instructor; Dana Cordell  Camp fee $105

Beach Blast : (K-5th grade) This camp will be filled with fun in the sun and cooling off from summer heat. The campers will be participating in many different activities including water balloon games, building sand castles, summer fun crafts and much more.  There will also be Daily Bible lessons that focus on the Son to go along with our warm weather theme for the week. Our field trip will be going to The Splash Pad in Fuquay-Varina on Wednesday and then water day games on Friday. Camp Fee $115



*Camp Week 4 – July 10 – 14*

Morning (9:00 am – 12:00 pm)

Baseball Camp: (4th – 8th grade)  Coach Cook and his staff will teach the basic fundamentals of baseball that will help your camper to become a better ball player. Instruction will be given on the hitting process and proper sequence in fielding ground balls and fly balls. Tips for proper stance, grip, bat selection, and hitting mechanics will be shared. The boys will enjoy drills that will reinforce proper hitting mechanics as well as infield and outfield drills for properly fielding and throwing the ball.  Instruction by WCA Coaching staff.  Camp Fee $95

This summer, we are going to find out just how often math exists in our everyday life.  We are going to find out that math really can be fun… in spite of what the world may think. Come join me as I try to increase your love of math, in  fun,  yet practical ways! Challenge accepted???  Instructor: WCA high school math teacher, Wanda Lucas. Camp fee $95.

 

Afternoon 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Babysitting Camp: (6th -9th grade)  Great babysitters are always in high demand. Be prepared for all the adventures babysitting can bring by learning some basic safety tips for watching children. Campers will design business cards and flyers to advertise. Learn keys to running a successful babysitting service-organization, ethics, and childcare. Create a babysitting kit to take to jobs so that you can entertain a variety of ages.  The cost of this course includes the $30 fee for Red Cross CPR and first aid certification plus the Babysitting 101 curriculum. Farm Frenzy Camp (K-5th grade)

This week we will be rounding up the barnyard learning more about God’s wonderful creation.  Each day will focus on a different farm animal and their jobs on the farm.  There will be daily devotions, crafts,and games.  Our Wednesday field trip will be spent appreciating the Chick-fil-a Cow . Campers will be making their very own cow costumes for the field trip.  Friday will be a water fun day!   Look for  fun dress up days at this camp too!  Camp Fee  $115 


*Camp Week 5 – July 17-21*

Morning (9:00 am – 12:00pm)

Boys Basketball: (4-9th grade)  WCA’s Coach Hensley will lead this comprehensive, one-week camp with an emphasis on participation and skill building. Your camper will be placed in an age appropriate group that also matches his skill level.  Each camper will receive instruction on passing, rebounding, individual defense, and teamwork. The boys will have opportunities to compete in a variety of activities, play games, and have a great time. This will be a fun and enjoyable atmosphere for the boys to learn more about basketball in a safe and positive environment.  Camp Fee $95

How Appetizing: (K – 4th grade) Oh, how appetizing! Campers will enjoy a week filled with learning how to prepare a variety of appetizers that not only taste good but look amazing. We will learn about how to cook certain foods as well as how to create the perfect presentation of the appetizers. Join us for a tasty, fun filled week of FOOD! Instructor: Delaney Currin.  Camp Fee $105

Science For Fun!: (2nd – 5th grade) This is a camp for the young scientist in you! Throughout the week we will take a look at some of the different areas in the world of science as well as taking part in hands-on science experiments. Campers will learn about the earth, chemicals, insects, weather and much, much more. Grab your lab coats and join us for Destination Science!  Instruction by Laura Glas.  Camp Fee $95

North Carolina Adventures Camp (K- 5th grade)  This camp will be filled with exploring the in’s and out’s of the state we live in.  We will be on a North Carolina fun fact finding mission . This camp will include fun games, crafts, scavenger hunts and more.  The campers will be adventuring to the North Carolina Museum of History on Wednesday and Pullen Park on Friday.Camp fee $115  

Red Hot Robots (2nd – 5th grade) This new and exciting camp is offered to WCA by Mad Science. This camp is an introduction to robotics.  It is a SUPER fun camp, and we will do a lot of “campy” stuff in addition to the robot building. Things like playing games using popsicle sticks and Boolean logic, creating assembly lines to make snacks, and using props to try and BE robots so we can see where the biggest limitations are. Conquering Middle School: (Rising 6th – 8th grade)   It’s never too early, or too late, to conquer the academic tasks necessary to succeed in middle school! This program is designed to introduce students to typical middle school expectations. Students will learn to identify personal learning styles and combine this knowledge with effective learning strategies. By understanding how to take effective notes from lectures, textbooks, and other media; to utilize technology to enhance study skills; to establish effective personal organizational systems; to develop sound time/task management strategies to handle both classroom and co-curricular activities; and to develop efficient test taking skills. Students will be prepared to excel as they begin school in the fall.  Instructor: Laura Glas.  Camp Fee $95



*Camp Week 6 – July 24 – 28*

Morning (9:00 am – 12:00 pm)

Tennis Camp: (4th – 9th grade) Grab your racket and let’s serve and volley We will focus on the technical aspects of tennis as we learn rules, styles of play and grow your love for the game. From the beginner to the intermediate, we will focus on improving your skills and fine tuning your game. Campers should bring their own  tennis racket, athletic tennis shoes, and a water bottle to camp every day. Instructor: Dennis Hensley Camp Fee $95

Crafting Around the World: (k- 5th grade) In Crafting Around the World, campers will take a trip around the world, crafty style! We will be exploring a different place around the world each day and making some of their most popular art pieces and crafts. We will be traveling to: Destinations unknown…..   This week is sure to be FUN!  Camp Fee $95

Advanced Rocketry Camp: (2nd – 5th grade) This camp is brought to WCA by Mad Science of the Triangle.  In this camp, students will focus solely on rockets and the physics of rocket flight. They will prepare for launches, perform the role of altitude trackers and launch rockets propelled by water and solid fuel engines. Young rocket scientists will build multiple designs and participate in daily launches.Houston…We have lift-off!  Advanced Rocketry Camp Description Camp Fee $150

Secret Agents Club  (K- 5th grade)The campers will be recreating their very own CSI mystery. This will be a fun filled week of detective work and forensics. This camp will include cool forensics activities, crafts, games and daily devotions. On Wednesday campers will enjoy a Sno Cone at Pelicans and on Friday they will be visiting the State Bureau of Investigation to meet real agents. Camp Fee $115
