10 Point Grading Scale Effective for 2015-2016 School Year

On Thursday, January 8, 2015, the N.C. Board of Education approved the 10 point grading scale for all North Carolina high school students effective for the 2015-16 academic year. Many private schools including Ravenscroft, St. David’s, Cary Academy, and Friendship Christian currently operate under the 10 point scale. Effective for the 2015-16 academic year, Wake Christian Academy is adopting the 10 point scale for grades 2-12. The new scale is not retro-active. WCA has decided to make this change to maintain consistency in the grading representations of WCA students transferring to and from North Carolina schools and to ensure our students are not disadvantaged during college admissions.
