“That Was Easy”

During the school wide staff meeting each month, a Wake Christian Academy employee is awarded the Easy Button. The WCA Faculty or Staff that receives the button is responsible for passing the award to another employee who goes above and beyond each day and makes their job look easy.  This month our School Nurse Paula Pierce, awarded the Easy Button to Mrs. Mary Ann Martin.  Mrs. Martin is a our 10th Grade High School English Teacher, High  School Student Council Sponsor, and  Senior Class Sponsor.
Here is what Mrs. Pierce had to say about this month’s winner:

“I would like to present the Easy button to Mrs. Mary Ann Martin.  I have seen the impact that Mrs. Martin makes on her students’ lives first hand.  One of my children has had Mrs. Martin as a teacher and I have seen the impact that she made on her life.  I have watched Mrs. Martin help at Homecoming and Winter court.  I saw her just last week cutting more tickets for the senior play.  I have seen Mrs. Martin at many games watching her students play (volleyball, basketball, football).  I have watched her keep the score book for baseball.  She does all this and makes it look EASY!  Mrs. Martin gave my daughter, Natalie, a journal for graduation with some of her favorite quotes written in it.  Natalie is now away at college and writes her favorite quotes in this journal.  She shared one with me that made me think of Mrs. Martin.  It is a quote from C.S. Lewis “True humility is not thinking less of yourself; it is thinking of yourself less.”  This quote reminds me of Mrs. Martin’s true humility.”
