julieanneamickWake Christian Academy sixth grader Julieanne Amick was recently crowned Miss Garner Preteen 2015!

She has been at Wake Christian since kindergarten and attends Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Julieanne is thankful for the lessons she has learned at Wake Christian Academy and feels like they prepared her to do her best in the pageant.

“I love WCA and I love all of my teachers so much! I think every teacher, coach, and principal that I have had has helped to make me what I am … Some people just go to school because they have to; well, I have to also, but I love to go and I love to learn,” she said.

Julieanne’s teachers can be proud that she tied for the highest GPA in the competition.

“I owe that award to my teachers as they have taught me so well,” she stated.

To Julieanne, the pageant “wasn’t just about outer beauty,” and she explained, “I spent a lot of time preparing for the talent and fitness parts. There was no way to prepare for interviews as the questions were random ones … The interview part was my favorite because I knew I would just answer from my heart and be myself.”

Julieanne also recounted, “I spent a lot of time praying and I knew that God had a plan for me even if I didn’t win.”

Perhaps this attitude helped her spirit to shine more brightly on stage and as Miss Garner Preteen 2015 she hopes to honor God at every event she will attend during her “reign.”

Julieanne concluded, “I plan to use every event to represent my community, but more importantly, I want to tell about God and what a big part of my life that He is. I don’t want people just to see my crown and sash, I want them to see a servant of God.”
