Three Generations of Jeffreys at WCA

For the Jeffreys family, service here at Wake Christian Academy is a family affair.

Three generations of Jeffreys are on campus this school this year, and even though WCA is entering its 51st year, it’s unusual to have a Grandparent, Parent and Grandchildren on campus at the same time.

Ronnie Jeffreys takes good care of our campus as Director of Facilities and this school year, his son David (‘99) joins us as Campus Pastor and Assistant Elementary and Middle School Principal. Raised on a farm not far from campus, Mr. Ronnie is very happy to have his family close-by, including daughter Holly Browning (‘03) and her husband, Charles. He has been with WCA for thirteen years and now granddaughters Hailey (7th) and Madison (5th) transitioned to WCA in August. Mr. Ronnie has fond memories of growing up in the Raleigh area, and a time when he knew the families who lived in each home along on the route to school each day – much has changed!

Mr. Ronnie and Mr. David Jeffreys can both recall what WCA was like years ago and Mr. David says in some ways the school campus seems to have more “life”, more energy in the atmosphere now – but the fundamental purpose and mission of WCA has remained the same.

Mr. David, wife Erin, and daughters moved to the area this summer from Asheboro, NC, where he was formerly the Administrator at Fayetteville Street Christian School. We’re barely into our second quarter and he is already an asset to our staff, teachers and to our student body. Mr. David wants parents to know that there are approachable adults in-place to support their children, and we’re excited that his position offers a new resource to WCA families.

One of his primary goals this year is to revolutionize chapel services for our middle and high school students. Mr. David feels strongly that “chapel is the most important moment in our school week” and he wants our older students to look forward to that time of worship and reflect on the message the Lord has for them each week.

Mr. David can’t choose a favorite part of his role at WCA so far – he enjoys every big and small opportunity he has to connect with students. From greeting students in morning car line to leading chapel services and ministering to students and their parents or carrying-out his Assistant Principal duties, you’ll spot him and Mr. Ronnie all over campus everyday.

The Jeffreys family likes to vacation together at the lake, and spend time on the water fishing, skiing, tubing and wake boarding. And here’s a fun fact for students at WCA: Mr. David was voted class clown in ‘99.

We’re grateful to Mr. Ronnie and to Mr. David Jeffreys for all the ways they care-for and serve our WCA family, and we’re happy to have Hailey and Madison on campus this year!
