Students at Wake Christian Academy are given the opportunity to serve Jesus in our community, alongside their classmates and teachers. The importance of Christian service is modeled beginning in kindergarten, and emphasized throughout the middle and high school years. Individual and group ministry opportunities help each student to experience the joy of being used by the Lord to help encourage and meet the needs of others.
Our young students visit local assisted living and retirement centers and our Garner Senior Center, to bless local residents with song, scripture, and encouragement.
First grade classes collect and pray-over shoe boxes to support Operation Christmas Child.
Fifth grade collects food for donation to Community of Hope Ministries; coats for donation to With Love from Jesus, and toys for donation to the Child Evangelism Fellowship's Joy Toys ministry.
Middle school students serve and work together as a group, completing needed tasks at Christian camps and ministries in our area. Our students have spent time serving at activity centers such as New Life Camp in Raleigh, as well as other youth organizations in NC.
High school students are expected to earn Christian service hours each quarter; and have served as small groups with Child Evangelism Fellowship.
Our Student Council spends time at Samaritan's Purse facility in Boone, NC each winter, preparing boxes for shipment.
WCA sends a group annually to San Lucas, Guatemala, to serve at The Oasis Children's Home. Our Mission 5K and Fun Run helps to support this mission effort.
