Visual Art

Using Our Gifts to Glorify God!

Students at Wake Christian Academy learn about various artists, styles, and mediums, beginning in kindergarten. Arts education helps to develop dexterity and imagination, and allows us to discover more about God’s majestic creation. A lifelong appreciation for design and artistic expression starts at a young age.

Our award-winning artists have previously placed in NCCSA Fine Arts competitions in many categories, including Polychromatic, Monochromatic, and Sculpture. Students represent WCA in competitions each year and at the AACS National Fine Arts Competition in Greenville, S.C. Art submitted from our high school student group placed 8th in the state at the 2019 N.C. State Fair!

Elementary

All elementary school students are introduced to the elements and principles of art. Beginning in kindergarten, students meet for art class once per week. The focus shifts to drawing and color theory for the older students. Even at a young age, they are challenged to compare and contrast works of art and to learn basic elements of art critique. Creativity and expression are encouraged, within the guidelines of each week’s lesson.
