Academic Experience
The academic experience at WCA is centered around a biblical worldview. Whether it’s understanding the intricacies of His creation through biology or gleaning from classical literature through a faith-centered lens, students learn the significance of God’s truth beyond Bible classes or chapel time.
Christ-Centered Worldview
God’s Word is woven into every subject, guiding students to understand and operate in the world as true disciples of Christ.
Rigorous Academics
We provide a learning pace that challenges students to excel intellectually and integrate a curriculum that exceeds state standards.
Success for All
At WCA, there is a way for everyone to succeed. We offer AP and honors classes, dual enrollment, and a diverse range of extracurriculars to foster different student goals.
Hands-On Learning
Our learning environment goes beyond textbooks. We believe students learn best through experiences, such as in-house field trips, STEM projects, and more.
These are just some of the ways our private school builds upon the strong academic, social, and spiritual foundations to bring out the best in every student — from our bright kindergartners to our excited seniors. Learn more about our expected student outcomes.
Thriving Community
For us, community is more than bringing everyone together — it’s also about cultivating every student’s unique gifts. Whether they’re passionate about running races, hosting a student talk, or creating illustrations with a stroke of their brush, the opportunities at WCA are filled with moments where they can celebrate these talents within a community.
Athletics
Our award-winning athletics teams get to compete within and beyond the school! Basketball is a fan favorite, and our gym gets packed during games. Volleyball, football, cheer, cross country, and tennis are also some of the other athletic opportunities that our students engage in — and cheer for.
Arts
The exciting programs at WCA are filled with events that spark a deep appreciation for the arts. These include our distinguished Chorale, Marching Band, and Gideon’s Line (Jazz Band) performing in concerts and competitions. Aside from our art electives, we also celebrate our students’ creations by hosting yearly museums and submitting their work at the state fair.
Clubs & Leadership
At WCA, we prepare the whole child for college and life. We’re proud to offer several avenues for students to explore and refine their knowledge, talents, and character, such as after-school clubs, Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), Beta Club, Student Council, and Chick-fil-A Leadership Academy.
Spiritual Life
Our school is determined to raise students who exemplify godly values in all they do. This is why we provide faith-filled opportunities for them to grow! Some favorite initiatives include our mission trips, Super Saturday (school-wide carnival that raises money for WCA classrooms and supports various global ministries), and Operation Christmas Child. We also partner with local ministries, including Communities of Hope, With Love from Jesus, and Child Evangelism Fellowship.
Events
Our community is alive with gatherings where students feel known, seen, and valued. Students enjoy events such as summer camps, homecoming parades, and athletic games. Many of our traditions are built around growing the community of WCA as a whole. Our Senior Play, for instance, is a highlight every year where all students get to preview it during their chapel time of opening week. This is just one way we show our student body that we are three schools, but one family.

Nurturing Gifts for God’s Glory
Kayla is an academically gifted alum who has faithfully served in ministry opportunities inside and outside the classroom. She was a stellar member of the high school Student Council and Beta Club, as well as a leader of WCA’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
“Wake Christian Academy has had one of the biggest impacts on my life. WCA is where I started to truly take my faith seriously because I saw the work of Christ in others around me. I have made so many friends who provide me with laughs when I need them, but also with words of wisdom and prayer. The staff at Wake have also given me so much knowledge that I am grateful for.”
-Kayla Horne, ’23
Overcoming and Excelling
Donovan is an alum of WCA and has participated in the Wake Sports Program since middle school. Passionate about different sports such as basketball and baseball, he has secured the Captain position of both teams. He was also an active member of the Chick-fil-A Leadership Academy and volunteered with Community of Hope Ministries.
“During my time at WCA, I have grown in many areas. I have been challenged academically. I have also learned how to deal with different adversities, which has deepened my relationship with God. Though I am not perfect, I strive to please God in everything that I do. I want to do all things for the glory of God.”
