Kindergarten teacher Terry Scott believes that “Centers” in a Kindergarten classroom are in important part of teaching.

“Centers tap into children’s natural curiosity as they interact with real materials that use all of their senses.  Children learn about specific subjects by playing and engaging cooperatively in activities.  Learning centers allow children to investigate, explore and discover things that are new and connect them to what they already know. It develops communication skills and builds relationships and imagination as children work together to create, construct and build. Learning centers are an important part of a balanced kindergarten as we teach the whole child successfully.”
