STEM Week: Learning Soars to New Heights in Third Grade

After earning their “Gold Wings” in Computers with Mrs. Evans by completing virtual Flight School simulations, the third-graders were ready to take their knowledge to new heights. Mrs. Fisher and Mrs. Tart planned some incredible learning opportunities for their third grade students for STEM Week 2016.

During days 3-5, the classes explored principles of flight, motion and design. Students experimented with modifications to Balsa wood planes, built zip-lines and created paper airplanes using different design models.

Each day there was another incredible opportunity to hypothesize, interact with data, make modifications to their designs and experience new outcomes.
