Graduation 2020

Wake Christian Academy’s 2020 Graduation took place in a different way, as current restrictions prohibited gathering for our traditional ceremony. School leaders sought a creative solution, and decided that a drive-in ceremony was the best way for our graduates to be “together” to celebrate their special night.

The threat of rain and social distancing guidelines couldn’t dampen spirits on this long-awaited occasion. Principal Wayne Helder led our graduates and their families around campus, to park and prepare for the ceremony. Over 2,800 people viewed the ceremony online, representing 39 states and 6 countries!

The Madison Victoria Pearce and Everett Lambert Christian Leadership awards were presented to Macey Johnson and Eli Teague, respectively. Valedictorian Jordan Britt and Salutatorian Emily Kumar both addressed their classmates with encouraging speeches.

Our graduates were “all-smiles” as their groups were called, parents came forward, and each student’s name, accomplishments, and future plans were announced by Assistant Principal Pam Griffin. This class has collectively earned over 2.5 million dollars in scholarships, and will represent WCA in attendance at 25 different colleges (8 of those are out-of-state!). We’re very proud of our 4 students who have chosen to serve in the military. Our high school faculty did everything possible to maintain traditions and offer our Class of 2020 a full graduation experience.

This truly was a ceremony that no one will forget. Many eyes were filled with tears of gratitude to our Lord Jesus Christ, for answered prayers and for the gift of precious time spent with this resilient group of graduates. Congratulations to our WCA Class of 2020!
