**THIS SUMMER – We will not offer a full day camp, but you can build a full day by choosing a morning option and an afternoon option for your camper.   

NOTE: For any campers who sign up for a morning and afternoon camp, there will be a supervised lunch hour between sessions.  Campers should bring their lunch.  We will only offer supplementary snacks, water, and juice boxes for sale during that time.

*Camp Week 1 – June 11 – 15*

Morning  (9:00 am – 12:00 pm)

Beginners Golf Camp (4th – 8th grade): This camp for beginner golfers will focus on the rules of the game, equipment needed, skills and technique. Campers will enjoy learning to drive and putt the ball for part of the week on campus as well as taking field trips to a local driving and putting facility. Camp Fee $105  

What to bring: A water bottle, sunscreen, golf clubs and gear

Football Skills Camp (2nd – 9th grade): Whether your football player is experienced or just starting football, this camp is for them! Our staff will focus on proper football fundamentals and techniques, placing boys into appropriate skill levels and age groups. Not only will they learn the ins-and-outs of the game, but they will also learn self-discipline, consideration of others and how to work as a team. Proper conditioning, nutrition, and weight training techniques are also introduced!  Camp Fee $95

Cheerleading (K5 – 3rd grade): We’ve got spirit, yes we do! We’ve got spirit how ‘bout you?! Cheerleading Camp is designed for the aspiring young ladies who want to develop cheer skills in an exciting, creative and fun atmosphere. Campers will learn individual cheer skills, basic tumbling, partner stunts and most importantly, teamwork! Get ready for a spirit filled week! Camp Fee $95  

What to bring: A water bottle, shoes appropriate for indoor court play

WCA Bakery (K5-3rd grade): Do you love making and eating sweet treats? Then join us for the week-long opening of the WCA Bakery! This week, we will be making all kinds of sweets, from brownies and cupcakes to candies and cookies. Campers will put together a Baking Book to take home, full of tips, tricks, and recipes to bake for friends and family! Camp Fee $105.

Crafty Kids Camp (K-5th grade):  Campers will enjoy a fun filled week of super cool crafts with Cameron.  They will have a take home craft every day.  Some of the artwork will be fun things to decorate their rooms with as well as some outdoor fun crafts.  Campers will be encouraged to use their own artistic style and have fun!  Camp Fee $95  

Afternoon (1:00 pm – 4:00 pm)

Under the Sea Fun! (K5–5th grade): Join us for a deep sea adventure! We will be exploring the creatures of the sea and learning about God’s creation in the deep blue. Campers will be making crafts and taking part in activities surrounding our Under the Sea theme. We will be taking a trip to the IMAX Theater in Raleigh to see a special Under the Sea movie on Wednesday and a trip to the Fuquay-Varina Splash Pad on Friday. Camp Fee $115  

Cheerleading (4th–6th grade): We’ve got spirit, yes we do! We’ve got spirit how ‘bout you?! Wacky Wheels Camp! (K5-3rd grade): Bike wheels, water wheels, race cars, and wagon wheels….we’ve got them all at Wacky Wheels Camp! Join us for a week of building with wheels and we’ll also learn about some basic engineering concepts such as force and motion. We’ll help answer the question, “What makes a wheel go??” Friday will be a special wheels day, where campers can bring in a bicycle or scooter to ride for the afternoon – don’t forget your helmets of course! Roll into WCA for a “wheely” fun time! Camp Fee $115

Animation Station (3rd-6th grade): Come explore the behind the scenes world of animation! Learn about drawing techniques and computer programming used to create an animated world! We will be taking a look at some famous animators, like the team at Disney, to learn from their works and see what makes their characters so awesome. Students will be using Scratch Animation, a free online animation program, to learn and develop their animation skills. By the end of the week, we will have our characters walking, talking, and moving all around the screen! If you like cartoons and are interested in animation, we have a week planned just for you! Camp Fee $115

 

*Camp Week 2 – June 18 – 22*

Morning (9:00 am – 12:00 pm)

Volleyball Camp (2nd–8th grade): Coach Deans and some of his varsity volleyball players are excited to be instructing this developmental camp for girls. The camp will focus on the basic techniques of passing, serving, setting and attacking and developing a higher technique in each area. The basic rules of the game will be taught as well as the basic offensive and defensive systems of the sport. There will be multiple, individual, and team competitions and games. Special prizes will be given for various activities during the week. This camp will be a fun and positive environment for everyone and a great opportunity to learn more about volleyball. Campers will be placed in age and skill appropriate groups during play and instruction times.  Camp Fee $95

What to Bring: a water bottle, shoes that are appropriate for indoor court play, knee pads.

WCA Kindergarten Readiness Camp (Rising K5):  Your rising Kindergartner will be given the opportunity to learn the ropes of K5 before the first day of school. Give your child a head start by allowing them the opportunity to learn their way around the classroom, playground, art room, media center, and other areas they will need to be familiar with. This will also give them the opportunity to meet and play with other WCA kindergarten students for an entire week. Our goal is to make them more confident and ready for the first day of school. Your student must be 5 by the September 30 cut off for K-5 registration.  Camp Fee $95  

Boys Soccer Skills Camp (2nd – 8th grade): Coach Cory’s primary objective of this boys-only soccer camp will be to improve a young player’s individual skills. Campers will be divided-up according to age and skill level. This camp will focus on passing, receiving, trapping, dribbling, shooting, finishing, heading, etc… and will be tailored to age-specific activities. Coach Cory is our Middle School soccer coach and his talented staff will make this a fun and enjoyable learning environment. Camp Fee $95

What to Bring: a water bottle, sunscreen, cleats (please wear soft shoes for check-in), shin guards

All Sports Camp (3rd – 6th grade):  Are you a fan of all types of sports or interested in trying something new? If so, join Coach Hensley for a fun-filled week of sporting activities. Each day will be dedicated to learning about and playing a different sport. Sports included will be basketball, bowling, rock climbing (pending availability), wiffle-ball, Hensley-ball and disc golf. Your camper will enjoy a week-long adventure in a fun and safe environment. They may even find an activity that they will choose to participate in for a lifetime. Camp Fee $105

Little Veterinarian School (K-5th grade):  All about canines! This is a great new camp being offered through the ‘Little Medical School’ group.  This camp uses interactive demonstrations and crafts to help kids learn how to take care of a pet and use some instruments that real veterinarians use.  Each camper will receive a diploma as a graduate of little Veterinarian School. Fun With Art (K-5th grade):  Your little artist will enjoy a fun-filled, creative time in art camp! Students will do some really fun painting activities and there will be lots of abstract creations this week!  We’ll let them have fun with friends and explore their artistic flair. There will be daily take home projects for your campers to keep forever! Camp Fee $95  

Afternoon (1:00 pm – 4:00 pm)

Camp Imaginarium (K-5th grade): – Let your imagination run wild! Grab those thinking caps and get ready to create! Camp Imaginarium is open and ready for you to create some awesome inventions! Engineers, scientists, creators – this week is for you! We will be taking everyday objects and turning them into art and machines. Each day, we will conduct science experiments, build machines, and make our creations come to life! We will have a special “Trash to Treasure” day on Tuesday and take a field trip to Marbles Kids Museum on Wednesday. On Friday we will be going to the NC Art Museum Park for some kite flying fun with our homemade flyers, check out some of the creations on the trails and have a snack picnic! Camp Fee $115

How Appetizing! Cooking Camp (3rd-6th grade): Campers will enjoy learning how to make appetizers themed for specific event types.  These recipes will be traditional and kid-friendly.  There will also be an opportunity to be very creative in the preparation and presentation of each appetizer.  The best part is the taste testing and the excitement of bringing things home to share! Camp Fee $105

Storybook Adventures (K-2nd grade): Pete the Cat, The Pout Pout Fish, and Dr. Suess will all join our campers this week as we take a trip through these storybook classics! Games, crafts, and other activities will be centered around a different storybook each day. Campers can dress-up each day as a character from the book theme for the day. On Friday, we will have a Storybook Ball where campers can dress up as ANY character from their favorite book! We hope you will join us for some reading fun!  Camp Fee $115  

Fashion Design (4th-7th grade): This week, campers will be learning the ins-and-outs of fashion design. We’ll sketch designs and discuss color schemes, pattern mixing and the actual creation of clothes. We will be getting a visit from a Fashion Design expert and learning how to use the tools of the trade. All campers will leave Friday with a sketch portfolio and hopefully even more of an interest in fashion design! Camp Fee $105

*Camp Week 3 – June 25 – 29*

Morning (9:00 am – 12:00 pm)

Girls Soccer Skills Camp (2nd–8th grade):  This camp, offered for girls-only, is designed to create a challenging environment to help participants improve their individual skill level. Campers will be placed in the appropriate age groups and skill levels for instruction. Emphasis will be placed on developing both technical skills and tactical field awareness in every player. Coach Cory is a WCA alumnus as well a middle school soccer coach. We are excited to have him for camp this year, his love for the game, our school, and the students shows through his coaching.  Camp Fee $95

Intermediate Golf Camp (4th–8th grade):  This camp is an advanced golf skills camp for intermediate golfers. We will be reviewing the basics of golf rules of play and developing our techniques.  We will practice techniques on the school practice fields as well as a local  putting course, driving range, and par three course. Camp Fee $105

Little Medical School (K5-5th grade): Discovering the human body! The Little Medical School group is offering a fun filled week of learning about our amazing bodies and the world of medicine on an elementary level.  This camp is instructed by certified Little Medical School teachers. There will be daily take-home items from what they learn each day at camp. Campers will also receive a diploma as a graduate of the Little Medical School upon completion of the course.  Camp Fee $150  

Little Chefs Camp (K5-3rd grade):  Your ‘Little Chef’ will enjoy learning their way around the kitchen. They will learn kitchen safety, proper handling of food, and the importance of cleanliness in the kitchen. They will also learn the importance of following directions with recipes and using proper measurements. They will learn how to make kid-friendly meals and best of all they will get to taste the results! Yummy…sounds like fun! Camp Fee $105

UServe Camp (6th-10th grade): Grab your work gloves and let’s get down to business! This week, students will work alongside staff to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our community. We will be working on projects for WCA as well as volunteering at a local nursing home and other people in need of assistance in our area. Whatever it is that we do, it will be our mission to bring glory to God and blessings to those we meet! Camp fee $95

Afternoon (1:00 pm – 4:00 pm)

BRIXOLOGY (2nd-5th grade): This exciting camp is brought to WCA by Mad Science.  Each camp day will incorporate a different brick build that highlights a specific engineering field as well as engineering as a STEM-based career path.  Each build is designed by a LEGO-Certified Professional. Each build that is completed will have a take-home items. See more about the Brixology camp offerings by Mad Science HERE. Camp fee $200  

Babysitting Camp (6th-9th grade):  Great babysitters are always in high demand. Be prepared for all the adventures babysitting can bring by learning some basic safety tips for watching children. Campers will design business cards and flyers to advertise. Learn keys to running a successful babysitting service, like organization, ethics, and childcare. Create a babysitting kit to take to jobs so that you can entertain children of a variety of ages.  The cost of this course includes the $30 fee for Red Cross CPR and first aid certification plus the Babysitting 101 curriculum. Camp Fee $125  

Cooking Around The Clock (2nd-5th grade):  Your young cooks will enjoy learning to make kid-friendly recipes that coordinate with the different times of the day. Recipes will vary, from meals to smaller snacks.  We’ll cover Breakfast time, Lunch time, Dinner time, snack time.  Fun, fun, fun with food! Camp fee $105

Under the Big Top (K5-5th grade): Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls…WCA proudly presents the first annual Bulldog Circus! Drop your popcorn and cotton candy, and join the act! This week we will learn the ropes of circus performers, walk the tightrope and juggle like the best clowns around! Campers will experience a day of “clown school”, learn some acrobat moves, and learn how to make circus treats. We will have special activities  throughout the week, like face painting and a visit from real circus acrobats. We’ll take a field trip to visit Pelican’s Snoballs on Tuesday and to Pullen Park on Friday! This week, we will learn about how we can be a part of God’s circus, using our talents for the good of others! Camp fee $115

Photography (5th-8th grade):  Do you enjoy photography and being behind the camera? We have the place for you! Join us this week as we explore what it takes to create the best photos. We will learn the basics of using a camera and some tips and tricks to edit our pictures afterward. Camp fee $95

Each student will need to bring in their own camera (digital or DSLR) with a camera bag and camera strap.

*Camp Week 4 – July 9 – 13*

Morning (9:00 am – 12:00 pm)

Baseball Camp (4th–8th grade):  Coach Barger and his staff will cover some basic fundamentals of baseball that will help your camper to become a better ball player. Your camper will be placed in an age-appropriate group that also matches his skill level. Tips on proper stance, grip, and bat selection will be shared. Players will enjoy drills that reinforce proper hitting mechanics as well as infield and outfield drills for fielding and throwing the ball. Instruction by WCA Coaching staff.  Camp Fee $95  

What to bring: A water bottle, bat(s), glove, cleats to change into (please wear soft shoes for check-in)

Cooking Around The Clock (1st-4th grade):  Your young cooks will learn to make kid-friendly recipes they will enjoy making long after camp ends.  Each recipe will focus on great ideas for every different time of day a meal or snack may be prepared.  Breakfast time, lunch time, dinner time, snack time and maybe just an “in-between” time.  Fun, fun, fun with food! Camp fee $105

Girls Basketball Skills Camp (4th-9th grade):  WCA’s Coach Hensley will focus on the fundamentals of basketball for girls of all levels of experience. Emphasis will be placed on developing dribbling, passing, shooting, and defensive skills. In addition, the girls will have opportunities to compete in a variety of activities, play games, and have a great time. Girls will be placed in appropriate age and skill level groups during the camp.  Camp Fee $95.

Math IS Fun!!! Really!?!?!?! (3rd – 5th grade): “When will I ever need this in life?” “What is the purpose of math”? This summer, Mrs. Lucas will help us explore how math is used in everyday life.  We’ll also discover that math really can be fun! Come join us as we try to increase your love of math, in fun, yet practical ways! Challenge accepted???  Camp fee $95.

The Voice (4th-8th grade): Do you want to share your voice with the world? Want to learn a little more about the art of singing? Then join us for WCA’s version of The Voice! While it isn’t a competition, we will be choosing songs, practicing them and preparing for a special performance on Friday! Campers will learn about harmonies, tones, and hitting those perfect notes! Warm up those voices…we’re ready for you! Camp fee $95  

Afternoon 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Drama Camp (4th-8th grade): Lights! Camera! Action! Join us for a week of theater lessons and behind the scenes tips. Campers will learn a small skit and practice it throughout the week in order to be performance-ready on Friday! We will be working on the choreography, music, and set design aspects of the theater and how to put on a show worthy of the stage! Critics be on the lookout… WCA’s show is sure to get 5 stars! Camp fee $95  

Cupcake Wars (4th–6th grade): It’s on! Do you think you have what it takes to make the most delicious cupcakes?? Come this week to try out the best recipes and see what the judges have to say. Be prepared — some days we may have some pretty wacky ingredients you must use in your daily challenge. But don’t worry, you’ll finish each session with some yummy cupcakes to eat or take home! Camp Fee $105.

Home on the Range (K-5th grade): – Join us for a week in the Wild Wild West! Put on your cowboy boots and your cowboy hat, and get ready for a week of western fun! This week we will take a look at how we can be Outlaws for Jesus, spreading his name in our community and world. Campers will learn about what life was like for pioneers on the range and try their hand at some of the everyday things cowboys would do. Learn how to lasso, cook cowboy meals, and make toys that cowboy kids would use to have fun! On Tuesday, we will be visiting Chick-fil-a for Cow Appreciation Day and on Thursday, we will be stopping by Porter Farms to taste some of their yummy, homemade ice cream and see what it’s like to grow large vegetable and fruit crops! Camp Fee $115

Morning (9:00 am – 12:00 pm)

Boys Basketball (4th-9th grade):  WCA’s Coach Hensley will lead this comprehensive, one-week camp with an emphasis on participation and skill building. Your camper will be placed in an age appropriate group that also matches his skill level. Each camper will receive instruction on passing, rebounding, individual defense, and teamwork. The boys will have opportunities to compete in a variety of activities, play games, and have a great time. This will be a fun and enjoyable atmosphere for the boys to learn more about basketball in a safe and positive environment.  Camp Fee $95

How Appetizing (K5–4th grade): Oh, how appetizing! Campers will enjoy a week filled with learning how to prepare a variety of appetizers that not only taste good but look amazing. We will learn about how to cook certain foods as well as how to create the perfect presentation of the appetizers. Join us for a tasty, fun filled week of FOOD! Camp Fee $105

Art Camp (K5-5th grade):  Your little artist will enjoy a fun-filled creative time in art camp.  They will do some really fun painting activities, there will be lots of abstract  creations this week!  We’ll let them explore their artistic flair. There will be daily take-away projects at this camp. Camp Fee $95

Party Planning Camp (5th-8th grade): Checklists and to-do lists galore! Campers will learn the basics of planning parties for themselves and others. We will learn budgeting, creating, and designing party materials and decor, as well as getting a chance to plan an event from the ground up! Campers will walk away with a notebook full of useful ideas  to plan the BEST parties in town!  Camp Fee $105   

Afternoon (1:00 pm – 4:00 pm)

Hometown Heroes Week (K5- 5th grade): – This week we will meet some heroes living and working right here in our hometown! From police officers, grocery store clerks, to bankers and dentists, we will be learning the tools of the trade from the people who make our town such a wonderful and safe place. We will visit some of our first responders, take a stop by our local Farmer’s Market, and have visits throughout the week from some other special guests! Our week is going to be full of fun, walking in these hard-working, hometown heroes’ shoes! Camp Fee $115

Red Hot Robots (2nd – 5th grade): This awesome camp is back and offered to WCA by Mad Science. This camp is an introduction to robotics.  It is SUPER fun, and we will do a lot of “campy” stuff in addition to the robot building. Things like playing games using popsicle sticks and Boolean logic, creating assembly lines to make snacks, and using props to try and BE robots so we can see where the biggest limitations are. Conquering Middle School (Rising 6th – 8th grade):  This program is designed to introduce students to middle school expectations. Students will learn to identify personal learning styles and combine this knowledge to create effective learning strategies. By understanding how to take effective notes from lectures, textbooks, and other media; and utilizing technology to enhance study skills, you can be set up for success in middle school. You’ll also learn to establish effective personal organizational systems, develop sound time/task management strategies to handle both classroom and co-curricular activities, and to develop efficient test taking skills. Students will be better prepared to excel as they begin school in the fall. Camp Fee $95

 

*Camp Week 6 – July 23 – 27*

Morning (9:00 am – 12:00 pm)

Tennis Camp (4th–9th grade): Grab your racket and let’s serve and volley! We will focus on the technical aspects of tennis as we learn rules, styles of play and grow your love for the game. From beginner to the intermediate, we will focus on improving your skills and fine tuning your game. Camp Fee $95   

What to bring: A water bottle, tennis racket, athletic tennis shoes

Little Veterinarian School (K-5th grade):  Fantastic Felines! This week, we will be learning the basics of writing a good story and getting the beginners guide to writing a book. Whether it’s children’s stories, true novels, or fictional books, we’re here to help you get those creative juices flowing! Campers can bring in works that they have already started on or use this week to get started on something fresh. By Friday, these writers will be ready for the Bestseller List!  Camp Fee $95  

Crafting Around the World (K5-5th grade): In Crafting Around the World, campers will take a trip around the world, “crafty” style! We will be exploring a different place around the world each day and making some of their most popular art pieces and crafts. We will be traveling to destinations unknown…this week is sure to be FUN! Camp Fee $95        

American Girl Camp (K5-2nd grade): Girls just want to have fun! This week, girls will enjoy a week of fun with creative crafts, dressing their dolls, and a super fun “spa” day on Friday. All activities will include our doll friends and help our little ladies learn about the importance of friendship and kindness! Camp Fee $95

Space is the Place (K- 5th grade):  3…2…1….BLAST OFF! Take a ride in Space Shuttle Bulldog into the open sky! Earth, Venus, Mars…we’ll visit them all, bringing back with us a souvenir from each one! All astronauts will be visiting Lake Benson on Tuesday for some “out of this world” games and getting a special Astronaut treat from Rocket Fizz Soda and Candy Shop on Thursday! Camp Fee $115

Writer’s Workshop (6th-9th grade): Writers unite! WCA’s Writer’s Workshop is open and ready for your stories! This week, we’ll learn the basics of writing a good story and receive a beginners guide to writing a book. Whether it’s children’s stories, true novels, or fictional books, we’re here to help you get those creative juices flowing! Campers can bring in works that they have already started, or use this week to start on a project. By Friday, these writers will be ready for the Bestseller List! Camp Fee $95  

World Travelers (K5-5th grade):  Passports… check! Airplane tickets…. check! We’re ready to go! Join us for a week of world “traveling” as we visit Italy, Australia, Egypt, Japan, and Spain. Along each stop, we will get a stamp on our “passports”, go sightseeing, and get a taste of some traditional foods. Flight 412 from WCA is ready for take off…. all we need is you!  Camp Fee $115
