An update from Bobby Johnson (’79) on his 24th mission trip to Kenya:

I want to say thank you to so many of you that have prayed relentlessly for me, particularly since I have returned from Kenya last Saturday.  I began feeling unwell in Paris on the way home.  I thank God for keeping me well while in Kenya.  After testing the knowledge of a few infectious disease specialist, it is believed that I have Dengue Fever, a mosquito viral illness.  There is no treatment for this, I am not contagious, and it should have no lasting effect on me.  I am already feeling much better.  This is a credit to God and so many prayers for me on both sides of the Atlantic!

Last night, I felt well enough to visit New Life Camp.  Someone was praising me for my sacrifice to missions and what I’ve been through.  I don’t really consider it a sacrifice.  I get on a plane, fly half way around the world in less than 24 hours.  I have had the best health care in the world upon my return.  Go read 2 Corinthians 11:24-33.  This will tell you what sacrifice for a missionary is.   1 Peter 4 is also good.  This 24th trip to Kenya marks a special milestone for me, for it was on this trip that I witnessed the 10,000th person to publicly declare their trust in Christ since I began going to Kenya in 2001.  Only God knows their hearts, but we have seen many of these maturing and bearing spiritual fruit!  I can not take any credit, because God is the ONLY one that can call a heart to yield to Him.  I just feel blessed to see it happening.

How can I stay home when I’m seeing results like this?  I’m already looking forward to my September trip and all God has planned for this trip.  Thank you so much for your prayers and support of this ministry.  We can not do this without our prayer team or financial support.  YOU are in this with me!
