WCA Senior Committed to Soccer for Stade Briochin in St. Brieuc, Brittany, France

The Wake Christian Academy Athletic Department is pleased to announce that Nate Brady has committed to play soccer with Stade Briochin, located in St. Brieuc, Brittany, France.

Nate is the son of Chris and Terri Brady, and younger brother of WCA grad, Casey Brady (’15, currently playing soccer for North Greenville University), and older brother to Christine and J.R.. Nate has attended WCA for five years. The Bible verse which has carried him through much is Isaiah 43:2 which in part says, “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you…”

Nate lettered all three years of varsity soccer as a center attacking mid-fielder in the starting lineup. In multiple years, he was captain, 1st team all-conference, all-region and all-state as selected by coaches in the North Carolina Soccer Coaches Association.  He was elected by teammates as the most-valuable offensive player. Despite missing the first few games due to his training in Spain, Nate led the conference both in goals (19) and combined points (44) his senior year.

Nate began competitive soccer at the age of six on a u-8 team in Michigan. Coaches in Michigan and Florida had an impact before Nate and his family settled in North Carolina.  His current team is NCFC-00 Elite, under NC Youth Soccer Coach of the Year, Tim Evans. Private coaching by former Premiership player Stephen Glass, selection for opportunities such as ID-2, PDP, and playing on the U-14/15 US Academy team were invaluable. Ideas of playing in Europe may have been planted when at a young age, Nate’s USA Futsal team won the national championship and was elected to play in the World Championships in Barcelona, Spain. Recently, the prestigious Generation Adidas International Real Madrid Select Team (August, 2017) took NCFC’s recommendation and chose Nate to train with other selected Americans at the Real Madrid complex and compete against Real Madrid’s own academy team as well as other top teams in Madrid. Nate led the camp in goals. Dario Brose, a former US Olympian (’92, soccer), as well as professional player in Germany, the MLS, and France – at Nate’s future club, Stade Briochin – has been instrumental in technical, cardio and mental development, overcoming and preventing injury, and preparing Nate for a future in professional sports.

Academically, Nate is a strong student with a GPA of 4.16 and has received several academic awards.

Wake Christian Academy is pleased to present Stade Briochin soccer player, Mr. Nate Brady.
